DAZ3D Free Software
DAZ3D is very generous. They recently gave away $830 worth of software for free. But people are complaining.

DAZ3D is my favorite 3D Art company. For a limited time, they’re giving away DAZ Studio Pro, Bryce 7 Pro & Hexagon 2.5 FREE. That’s about $830 worth of software.
I chose to upgrade to DAZ Studio 4 Advanced instead of Poser 9. I got a $40 upgrade price. I like DAZ Studio better than Poser.
I’m a writer and artist. I’ve been using programs like Poser since 1999. I started using DAZ Studio by DAZ3D when it was first introduced. I go back and forth between DAZ Studio and Poser. Here is DAZ’s link. Here is the Poser link.
Poser has had many different owners in recent years. DAZ3D has been a major supplier of Poser content since its beginnings in 1999. Over recent years, DAZ3D has bought many 3D art software titles. Here is a link of their offerings.
I’ve noticed that DAZ3D has fallen behind on their support for Macintosh computers. First, the oldest product installers wouldn’t work because Apple no longer supported the “classic emulation.” Apple abandoned support for Rosetta, and that disabled most of DAZ3D’s product installers. I contacted DAZ3D directly, and received absolutely no assurances that the problems would be fixed.

I agree completely. Carrara has been utter frustration for me for years. Not ONE single version, or update to a version as worked as would be expected. Buttons don’t work, primitives act strangely, shaders disappear or change on an object, or just plain crashes. It goes on and on. I was so disappointed in version 8 that I got a refund. It’s disgraceful the way they treat the Mac platform. WIth a million or so a month being sold, you’d think they’d wake up and smell the roses. No such luck, I’m afraid. These people can’t seem to make a stable product. I can only imagine what it must me like on a PC.
